It's A Long Way to Guacamole is a collection of recipes drawn from several Texas couples transplanted to Washington, DC who began meeting for informal Mexican food dinners on Sunday nights. The food was quickly named Tex-Mex because of the changes as Mexican food made its way north across the border. Basic techniques, ingredients, sauces and fillings take the mystery out of Tex-Mex and make simple tacos, chili suppers, covered dish suppers or elegant and spicy brunches understandable, easy and simply delicious.
